I have just discovered that fat balls intended for feeding the local birds over the winter have been stolen from the rear garden and from the front. These fat balls had been provided for the birds by a kindly resident

If anyone has information about which wretch is intent on depriving the local bird population of some marginal food over the winter would they let me know?

If it's you and you have taken the fat balls for your own sustenance then please let me know as I am happy to provide you with your own fat balls (so long as your needs are not excessive)

We know it wasn't the birds that took them because all the man made paraphernalia has disappeared too ; and I've never seen a blue tit with a screwdriver
