Dear All

I have written to the local authority to protest at the way a  minority of parents abuse Stoneygate Road and our parking area when dropping off and picking up children.

On Wednesday things were so bad that an ambulance , lights flashing and siren on , could not make progress from London Road down Stoneygate Road. I do not know if others have protested but I think it would help if others did

Update

I have received a very nice email from the headteacher at LIA who agrees that some of the parents are behaving badly and says that the school will continue to try to dissuade them from illegal and antisocial parking.

LCC has also responded saying that they will send a parking warden along (parking wardens have some new , Orwellian  , title which I can't remember). They said that they can issue fines in respect of vehicles parked on double yellow lines but not for those parking on the pavement or obstructing our parking. The latter is a police matter although some of you may remember that I raised this with the police some time ago when the odious Karl was in residence and I was told that this was not a crime. I will report drivers to the police next time I am in residence and we'll see what happens then
